The Belgaum Airport is ten kilometres east of Belgaum, a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. This airport is adjacent to the Sambra Air Force Station, an Indian Air Force non-flying basic training centre.
The airport covers 440 acres, and a second taxiway connecting the emergency service enclave to the main apron is being built. The VIP terminal will be served by this enclave. The government has purchased 298 acres of land surrounding the existing airport and given it to the AAI for future expansion for INR 35.7 million.
Domestic flights to various destinations depart from a single terminal with a single boarding gate. This terminal has three check-in counters for passengers and is 1,160 square metres in size.
Travellers can satisfy their hunger with delicious food and beverages available at the airport's eating establishments.
