Gwalior Airport

Gwalior Airport, or Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal, to give it its proper name, is a civil enclave honoring the former queen of Gwalior. It can be found at the Maharajpur Air Force Station, about 10 kilometers northeast of Gwalior in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This airport is significant because it is one of only four in the state.

The Indian Air Force's only other support base, Gwalior Air Base, only has one runway that isn't closed for maintenance. The idea for the second runway emerged in 2006, and building on it started in 2009. In October of the following year, it started functioning as intended.

There is only one domestic terminal and boarding gate at this airport. The terminal can handle 100 passengers per hour (100 arrivals and 100 departures). The terminal is 1,600 square meters and features 2 check-in desks and 1 security checkpoint.
