Hubli Airport

Hubli Airport, also known as Hubballi Airport, is a domestic airport serving the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad in the Indian state of Karnataka. The airport is about 8 kilometers from the city center of Hubli and about 20 kilometers from Dharwad. It was inaugurated in 2003 and has since been an important gateway to the region.

The airport has a single runway with a length of 2,300 meters and a width of 45 meters, which can accommodate narrow-body aircraft such as Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The airport terminal can handle 300 passengers simultaneously and has modern amenities like ATMs, food courts, souvenir shops, and duty-free outlets.

Hubli Airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India and serves as a hub for the regional airline TruJet, which operates flights to cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Tirupati. Other major airlines like IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India also operate flights to and from the airport, connecting Hubli to major cities across India.

The airport has undergone several upgrades in recent years, including installing a CAT-1 Instrument Landing System (ILS) to improve flight safety during adverse weather conditions. Plans are also underway for the airport's expansion, with the construction of a new terminal building and a runway extension to accommodate larger aircraft.

Overall, Hubli Airport plays an important role in the region's development by providing convenient air connectivity to business and leisure travelers.
