1. Bathukamma Festival(September October):

Bathukamma Festival is one of the top festivals in Telangana. It is a festival of Colourful flowers. This festival is mainly before the onset of monsoon. This festival is mainly from September to October. This festival is long for 9 days and starts from Engili Pula Bathukamma on Mahalaya Amavasya. This festival ends with Saddula Bathukamma on Ashtami. During these ongoing days, Goddess Bathukamma is decorated with several colourful flowers. After these nine days, the Bathukamma goddess is immersed in the water. The main reason behind this festival is that flowers will naturally clean the rivers and lakes.

2. Bonalu Festival(July/August):

Bonalu festival is celebrated in two marvellous cities of Telangana: Secunderabad and Hyderabad. This festival is celebrated in July and August, the month of Ashada. The famous thing about this festival is that women prepare the brass pot, Bonam, filled with milk, jaggery and cooked rice. The pot has been decorated with neem, turmeric and kumkum, which is offered to the Goddess by carrying it into their head. The great pooja was done for Goddess Mahakali Amma. The festival is celebrated at the Golconda Fort on the first Sunday, the Ujjaini Mahakali temple on the 2nd Sunday, and the Pochamma and Katta Maisamma temples on the third Sunday.

4. Medaram Jatara(February):

It is the biggest and most renowned festival in Telangana. It is a tribal festival in Telangana, also known as Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. This festival is celebrated mainly in the village of Medaram in Telangana every two years. This festival honours the mother and daughter goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma. According to the scriptures, these mothers’ daughters died during an epic fight celebrated on the evening of the full moon. They bring the Saralamma goddess from the Kanneboyina Palli village. Then, the other village people follow and get the Sammakka goddess from the town of Chilukalagutta. Almost 1.3 crore people attend this Jatara after the Kumbh Mela. 5. Peddagattu Jatara(February end):

It is a renowned tribal festival. It is one of the most prominent religious and tribal festivals of Telangana. It is Telangana’s second biggest gathering festival, celebrated every two years. It is a festival celebrated in the name of Goddess Chowdamma, Lord Lingamanthulu, and the other presiding deities. This festival lasts five days and offers various pujas to the gods. The people believe these gods are Lord Shiva’s incarnation and his sister Choudamma. This festival, or Jatara, is attended by 10 to 15 lakh devotees. 6. Nagampalli(February):

This is a festival celebrated in the Medak district of Telangana. This festival also signifies and honours the seven rivers, which are Manjeerariver and offered pooja to the river for ages. A large number of devotees sacrifice chickens and sheep to please the Goddess for the fulfilment of their wishes. 7. Kurumurthy Swamy Jatara(October to November):
