In the year 1975-76, a tourism event called Tourism Year was organized in South Asia. And on this day, the decision of organizing Lucknow Mahotsav was taken to promote and spread the Art, Culture, and Learning of Lucknow and all of the countries for national and international tourists. Since then, except for a few initial years, the festival is celebrated every year in November-December.
Organized every year in winters, this cultural extravaganza Lucknow Mahotsav is a 10-day-long festival with flawless folk performances exciting competitive activities, entertainment& fun, and mouth-watering cuisines and delicacies. Every year there’s a unique theme on which the whole festival makes merry around. And the theme for this year is Shaan-E-Awadh-Jash-E-Lucknow to celebrate and promote the rich heritage tradition, preserve ancient monuments, and encourage Local Artisans.
The cultural performances, Sitar recitals, Thumri, Ghazal, and Qawali nights, Kathak dance performances, display of ancient antiques, and award-winning art by the local artisans are few of many fascinating things to explore and get indulged in Lucknow Culture Festival. Also, there are many exciting events like Kite Flying competitions, vintage car and dope bike rallies, cock fighting, boat race, and numerous other fun activities to indulge in.
