Shimla in Summer- This is a tourist season in Shimla when the weather is quite pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities. From March to June, the temperature remains between 38°C and 9°C.
Shimla in Monsoon- The region receives heavy rainfall from July to September
with mild cold weather and you might need woolen clothes. The area is prone to landslides and
road damage, hence it is not recommended to visit Shimla during the monsoon season.
Shimla in Winter- If you wish to celebrate Christmas and New Year, the winter
season from October to February is the best time to see the snowfall and related fun activities,
especially for the honeymoon couples.

By Air- The closest airport is Chandigarh airport from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai,
Bangalore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, etc. Take a cab or a taxi to Shimla, which is approx. 120 km from
the airport.
By Train- The closest railway station is Kalka Railway Station connected to
many major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jammu, Jaipur, etc. You can either take a Toy
Train to Shimla or take a taxi to reach your destination.
By Road- Shimla has a well-constructed and connected road to major cities like
Chandigarh (about 108 km) and Delhi via NH 5 (419 km approx.), Mumbai via NH 48 (approx. 1,748
km), Dehradun via NH 7 & SH 2 (approx. 223 km), etc.
