Itinerary Details

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your guide will greet you and drive you to Thimphu (about 1.5–2 hours). After checking into your hotel, you’ll visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the Bhutanese government and the monastic body. In the evening, take a stroll through the bustling local market, where you can shop for traditional Bhutanese handicrafts. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Start your day with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma statue, a 51-meter-tall Buddha that offers sweeping views of Thimphu. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a spiritual site dedicated to Bhutan’s third king, and visit the National Textile Museum to learn about Bhutanese weaving traditions. After lunch, explore Changangkha Monastery, which overlooks the valley, before returning to the hotel for a restful evening. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 3-hour drive to Punakha. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive back to Paro, about 3 hours away. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and then visit the magnificent Rinpung Dzong, an architectural gem. In the afternoon, head to the National Museum of Bhutan, which offers insights into the country’s history, culture, and art. The evening is free to enjoy a leisurely walk around Paro’s main street. Today is the highlight of the tour—a trek to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), perched on a cliff 3,120 meters above sea level. The hike takes about 4–5 hours round trip, passing through pine forests and offering stunning views of the monastery. Once at the top, explore the monastery and soak in the spiritual atmosphere.
