Itinerary Details

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, your guide will meet you and drive you to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city (approximately 1.5–2 hours). After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the evening to visit Tashichho Dzong, an important religious and administrative site, or take a leisurely walk through Thimphu’s local markets. Enjoy your first night in Thimphu, taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the city.
Today, after breakfast, you’ll begin your day with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a massive golden statue of Buddha offering panoramic views of Thimphu. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa dedicated to Bhutan’s third king, and then explore the National Textile Museum to discover Bhutan’s unique weaving traditions. In the afternoon, visit Changangkha Monastery, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley. Spend the evening relaxing or shopping for local handicrafts. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Punakha, about 3 hours away. En route, stop at Dochula Pass to enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range and visit the Dochula Monastery. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic and well-preserved fortresses, located at the confluence of two rivers. Later, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, and explore the surrounding area. Overnight stay in Punakha.
Today, you will travel to the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, a 3-hour drive through lush green landscapes. The valley is famous for its wildlife, especially the black-necked cranes that migrate here during winter. You’ll visit Gangtey Monastery, perched high on a hill and offering panoramic views of the valley. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely walk through the valley’s tranquil surroundings. Spend the night in Phobjikha Valley, where the peaceful atmosphere is perfect for unwinding.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Paro, taking approximately 4-5 hours. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and have a relaxed afternoon exploring the town. Visit Rinpung Dzong, a 16th-century fortress and a prime example of Bhutanese architecture. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the National Museum of Bhutan, where you can learn about the country’s history and culture. Spend the evening exploring the local shops and cafes in Paro. Overnight stay in Paro.
Today is the highlight of your trip: a trek to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), one of Bhutan’s most famous and revered spiritual sites. The monastery, perched on a cliff 3,120 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. The trek takes about 4-5 hours, and along the way, you’ll pass through pine forests and enjoy incredible views of the monastery. After reaching the monastery, explore the sacred site and take in the peaceful atmosphere. Return to your hotel in Paro for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Paro International Airport for your departure, concluding your unforgettable journey through the scenic and spiritual heart of Bhutan.
