Itinerary Details

Juley! You have arrived at Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport. As you disembark, you'll be greeted by the crisp, fresh mountain air and the stunning vistas of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Your driver will escort you to your hotel in Leh. Rest and acclimatize in your hotel. Leh is at 3,500 meters (11,500 feet), and giving your body time to adjust to the high altitude is crucial. Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activities. 

In the evening, you can walk in the Leh Market. The vibrant market has shops selling local handicrafts, souvenirs, and traditional Ladakhi items. Visit the Shanti Stupa, a magnificent white-domed structure offering panoramic views of Leh and the Indus Valley. The sunset view from here is breathtaking. Stay at a hotel in Leh.

After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour. Visit the Shey Palace, once the summer capital of Ladakh. The palace houses a giant statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. Turtuk, once part of Pakistan until the 1971 war, offers a unique cultural experience with its Balti culture and heritage. Enjoy a traditional Balti lunch. Explore Turtuk, visit the local mosque museum, and see the ruins of the ancient royal house. Walk through the village lanes, interacting with the warm and welcoming locals and learning about their customs and traditions. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Turtuk.

After breakfast, depart for Pangong Tso, one of Ladakh's most beautiful and iconic lakes. The drive is long but incredibly scenic, passing through small villages and high mountain passes. Arrive at Pangong Tso in the afternoon and check into your camp by the lake. At an altitude of 4,350 meters (14,270 feet), Pangong Tso is renowned for its ever-changing hues of blue. Enjoy lunch with a view of the serene lake.

Spend your evening walking along the lake’s shores, soaking in the tranquillity and stunning landscape. The sunset at Pangong Tso is a sight to behold, with the sky and the lake reflecting myriad colours. Overnight stay at a camp near Pangong Tso.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over Pangong Tso, which will leave you breathless. The golden light of the rising sun reflecting on the crystal-clear water creates a magical atmosphere. After breakfast, start your journey back to Leh.
